Partners in Development
ORT International

ORT is one of the
oldest and largest non-profit, private training
organizations in the world. ORT conducts a wide
variety of vocational education and technical
assistance programs in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the
Middle East and North America.
Training for
employment is the motivational force behind every
ORT undertaking. ORT's International Cooperation
Department has implemented nearly 300 projects in 72
developing countries at the request of international
funding agencies, host governments and private
firms.
ORT is working
with Fearless Planet to provide technical and
business skills training as part of the Elmina
Women’s Textile Project, and to secure the funding
to facilitate a comprehensive project which will
support the success of Fearless Planet products and
benefit the communities where they are produced.
Tzedek
Tzedek is a Jewish overseas development and
educational charity based in the UK. Tzedek works
regardless of race or religion, with some of the
poorest communities of the world, providing direct
support to small-scale sustainable self-help
development projects for the relief and elimination
of poverty.
In March, 2005, Tzedek began working with
Fearless Planet by contributing the funding for two
important month-long training courses for our batik
artists, as well as for purchasing the materials
necessary to establish our own batik workshop in
Elmina.
Fearless Planet appreciates Tzedek’s contribution
to the Elmina Textile Project, which was provided
just at the time it was needed. We look forward to
working together with this outstanding grassroots
development organization on additional programs.
